What is the difference between the Active Portal and the Classic Portal? |
| A) |
The Active Portal is designed to become the main delivery mechanism for all the information within your organization. The Active Portal has been built to allow your organization to create Portal Windows that display internal content. The Active Portal also displays the IntraNomic notifications in a clean and straightforward manner.
The Active Portal requires IE6 (or above), anyone using IE5 or IE5.5 are shown the Classic Portal. The Classic Portal does not display any Portal Windows, it only shows the outstanding IntraNomic notifications for that individual.

Do I need IE6 (or above) to run the Active Portal and if so why? |

You do require IE6 (or above) to run the Active Portal.
The reason you need IE6 to run the Active Portal is that IE5 and IE5.5 contain a memory leak which causes your browser to consume all available memory and either stop working or become extremely slow when using the Active Portal.

Can we force everyone to use the IntraNomic Active Portal? |
| A) |
Yes, you can force everyone in your organization to use the IntraNomic Active Portal rather than the IntraNomic Classic Portal.
The IntraNomic Administrator has the following options within the IntraNomic Configuration module:

Allow the user to choose (default) |
If you select the Always use the Active Portal option only those with IE6 will be able to view the IntraNomic Active Portal, therefore StyleTech also recommend that the IntraNomic Administrator sets the Minimum Browser Version to IE6 (also within the IntraNomic Configuration module).
Once the Minimum Browser Version is set, anyone who is not using IE6 is stopped from accessing IntraNomic and the IntraNomic Administrator automatically receives an IntraNomic notification requesting a browser upgrade.

Can the Portal Messaging window (centre column) be removed or moved? |
| A) |
The Portal Messaging window cannot be removed or moved to another position within the Active Portal. The Portal Messaging window is used to display the IntraNomic notifications and therefore is always shown at the top of the centre column.
You can collapse the Portal Messaging window to display more Portal Windows within your available screen space.

Can we add our own Portal Windows to the Active Portal? |
| A) |
Yes, you can add Portal Windows to the centre and right columns. You are unable to add Portal Windows to the left column as this is reserved for IntraNomic.
